Terms of Use

last updated // 24 May 2026

By installing the icecut extension or using the icecut website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use icecut. We have tried to keep them short and honest, in the spirit of the product.

// what it is

A focus aid, nothing more

icecut is a tool for self-imposed friction. It puts a timed, deliberate gate in front of distracting sites you flag yourself and keeps a log of the times you cut through. It is not a blocker, not a security or parental-control product, and not medical, psychological, or behavioral treatment. Do not rely on it as any of those.

// no guarantee

It cannot, and will not, stop you

icecut does not — and is not designed to — guarantee that you stay off any site. You can cut through any time after the breach protocol, and you can disable or remove the extension in a few clicks. When you disable it, icecut treats that gap as part of the record. That is by design: the honesty of the log is the point.

// your use

License and acceptable use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable license to use icecut for its intended purpose. Do not misuse it: no reverse-engineering for republication, no reselling, and no use that breaks the law or another platform's terms. The icecut name, design, and code remain ours.

// your data

Your breach log is yours

On the current version your breach log stays in your browser; see the Privacy Policy for specifics. When accounts ship you will be able to export your data and delete your account, which removes the synced copy.

// the boring part

Warranty and liability

icecut is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — icecut.

// housekeeping

Changes, law, and contact

We may update these terms as the product evolves; the date above reflects the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept it. The governing law and jurisdiction will be set before public launch.
